What is Coin Collecting?
Coin collecting, also known as numismatics, is the hobby of acquiring and studying coins, paper money, tokens, and medals. Collectors are drawn to coins for many reasons — their history, artistry, rarity, and the stories they tell about the people and events that shaped our world.
Some collectors focus on completing date-and-mintmark sets, while others specialize in certain countries, historical periods, or precious metal coins. Whether pursued for enjoyment, education, or investment, coin collecting offers a rewarding blend of history, discovery, and the excitement of finding the next great piece.
